The 2018 Matariki Lecture took place at Tübingen University on the 24th October. The lecture was delivered by Professor Alex Densmore of Durham University and was entitled “The use of science in earthquake risk reduction: Lessons from the 2015 Nepal earthquake”.

The lecture was recorded by the Media Competence Center of the University of Tübingen. Around 70-80 people attended; mainly students from Geosciences. The day after the lecture, Professor Densmore met with students and staff members of the Earth System Dynamics Research Group of Prof. Todd Ehlers at the Department of Geology and Geodynamics at Tübingen University.
